“New Years eve menu”
[5 of 5 stars] Reviewed 7 January 2015
As a previous client of Ma Goa,we received an email with details of the special New Years Eve menu, and decided to go out to Putney for our New Years Eve meal, which was a great decision.
The menu was 3 courses for £25.95 or with wines to compliment each course for £37.95.
The menu had many items not normally on the Ma Goa menu and some unusual wines, which I greatly enjoyed tasting.
For starter I had Kafir Lime Mungh Tikka which was chicken breast pieces cooked in the tandoori oven paired with a Portugese Gaudio Alvarinho white, great food complimented by a lovely dry white.
My partner had Manglorean Crab and salmon cakes which were also very good.
For main I had Monkfish pepper Kodi paired with a Paul Cluver Gewürztraminer from South Africa. Both perfect.
My partner had a Malabi Lamb Biryani paired with a Portugese red, Sagrado Douro Valley.
Deserts were a dark chocolate Mouse with a Guava compote for me and a Coconut and Cardamom cheesecake for my partner both served with a White Port.
Service was excellent and Deepak the owner was making sure everyone was happy and well taken care of.
As usual Ma Goa exceeded my expectations.
“Lovely as usual .”

I have visited Ma goa a couple of times before and the experience is always delightful. It had been a couple of months since I had dined here and I was happy to see some new additions. Always wanting to try new dishes I tried the dhai vada which was one of the new additions, it was really soft and had a lovely flavour. Staff are always so welcoming and food is always excellent. Cant wait to see what they will do next.
“Excellent food and even better service”

[5 of 5 stars] Reviewed 8 December 2014I ventured to South London with some friends last Friday evening and was immediately greeted with the warmth of the kitchen-the smell of home cooking is a true delight- and a friendly welcome. There were three of us together that evening and we were seated on a comfortable table in the back corner of the restaurant. I could see that the restaurant would start to get busy which is why I was glad my friend had reserved a table- I definitely did not want to miss out! I had a starter of Ma's Peri Peri Salmon, a wonderfully light, yet flavoursome starter that quenches your initial hunger, but still leaves you wanting more. For a main course, I ordered Korma and a tandoori roti, one of my friends had an Achari Tikka dish, dry chicken, but full of flavour, and the other had a lamb curry- utterly succulent and tender to taste- we also all shared
a large portion of saffron rice which had a very delicate flavour.
Finally, although we weren't planning on having desserts, we were tempted by the chocolate samosa- a twist on a traditional samosa- we were astounded with the result as it was absolutely gorgeous! Warm and chocolately and a perfect way to end our evening.
I thoroughly enjoyed my evening at MaGoa and will definitely return and recommend to my friends!
