Ma and DeeAt Ma Goa Restaurant, my Mother and her team prepare their favourite dishes using family recipes passed down the generations. Our menu takes inspiration from the beautiful palm fringed region of Go (where my Ma learnt to cook) but also takes influences from other parts of India.

Since its opening in 1993, we have won critical acclaim from many top critics & we take pride in the fact that we are a genuine family-run restaurant. Our mission has always been to serve tasty, fresh, unpretentious home-style cooking in a warm & friendly setting.

Situated 2 minutes away from Putney British Rail & 5 minutes away from East Putney Tube it makes a perfect venue before a night on the town.

We also offer a popular take-away & free local delivery service & a party catering service.

We look forward to welcoming you to Ma Goa soon.

“Curry with a twist”

Was this review helpful?YesHave eaten at this Putney restaurant a number of times and it has been the same great standard each time. Warm friendly family run restaurant that serves great food. Always worth a study of the specials board, only trouble is which one to choose. Will it be the lobster or the lamb shank or possibly the swordfish! That is not to distract from the main menu which also offers a great variety of dishes. Worth making a visit.

Long trip but I wasn't disappointed.
Reviewed April 14, 2013 NEW via mobileI have been a lover of Indian cuisine some 45 years.
My favourite dish became the Vindaloo and have learnt a bit about it. For me, it has fascinating and interesting history.
I have been to Goa twice and have had the privalage of eating this dish in the beach shacks you can find scattered along the shores.
The Vindaloo I was presented with at the Ma Goa was every bit as good as the above, as were the other dishes.
My shared starter was the Borrego Pankhwalla,
the lamb was tender, with a spicy kick, and accompanied by a cooling sweet yoghurt dip. A clever combination and pleasing to the palette.
Other dishes included Potatoes, Okra and also Black Eyed Beans, all of which appeared and tasted freshly prepared.

“WOW!”
[5 of 5 stars] Reviewed 19 March 2013 NEWI was deciding on a restaurant to host my mothers Birthday dinner, when I was advised by a friend of mine to try Ma Goa. I went onto their website and was straight away taken by the authentic menu choices and value for money. Our visit was spectacular and the service was attentive right from our entrance.
The food is only too well described by the aromas that fill the restaurant and the flavours were fresh and vibrant ( I hadn't had a traditional vindaloo this genuine since my trip to Goa last year!) All of the curries we had were unique spins on Goan classics. True family recipes handed down through generations, and kindly shared with us.
On leaving the restaurant, my mother was presented with a personal birthday card signed by the staff; a true reminder of the unique dining experience we had enjoyed.
I strongly recommend anyone to visit this Family run gem, so conveniently situated in Putney

THANK YOU MA GOA!

This was my second visit to Ma Goa and it will not be my last. The service was very good and the food itself also; we particularly liked the differences between the food at Ma Goa and the usual run of the mill Indian restaurants. I would certainly recommend Ma Goa to my friends.

“Loved it!”
[5 of 5 stars] Reviewed 2 March 2013 NEWI was on a training course, and was the only one staying in a hotel, so had a week of eating out on my own. When walking around spotted Ma Goa and their Tripadvisor sign (regarding being the 25th most popular restaurant in London) and decided to give it a go. I loved that as you walk in you are almost transported to the East, the decor is nice and the incense hit me straight away - good memories of travelling.....I had Bellas Goa lamb masala (or similar) and the sweet naan, which resembles two of the things I quite often choose when dining in an Indian restaurant. Wow, the flavours were great! And I really liked the thinner style of the naan bread. Staff seemed lovely. I'm looking forward to taking my husband there next time we are up in London.

“Fantastic meal”
[5 of 5 stars] Reviewed 25 February 2013 - Vistied Ma Goa one evening during the week and found the place to be exceptional in terms of the service and the food. Was looking for somewhere to eat in Putney and found this place through tripadvisor.
The chorizo starter was very good as were our mains and sides with both the Xhacutti and Cafrael having excellent and deep flavours and not over powered by chillis although there were clearly many used in the cooking.

"Brilliant”
